The Bengal Triathlon is perfect for beginners and intermediate triathletes! SWIM: The swim will take place in the Reed Gym swimming pool and will consist of 700 yards (28 lengths/14 laps). Timers/counters will be provided for you. You may also be asked to help time/count for the person ahead of you. We will swim TWO PEOPLE to a lane (stay on your side of the lane do not circle). Racers will be start BIKE according to swim times. Start times will be posted Saturday morning. The first racer (fastest swimmer) will start bike/run at 9:30am! BIKE: Racers will leave the Transition Area (front parking lot of Reed Gym) and proceed south down Martin Luther King, Jr Drive. They will turn left onto Cesar Chavez and follow it around Humboldt, passing Davis Field. They will cross 5th Ave and turn left on 4th Ave. They will then proceed 6 miles to the turnaround, just past Century High School. They will return on 4th Ave to Humboldt, to Cesar Chavez and onto MLK to enter transition. RUN: Racers will leave the transition area south passing in front of Reed Gym on sidewalk and south onto Red Hill Road. They will pass behind the Rendezvous Center and turn left onto the Red Hill Trail. They will continue on the paved trail behind Davis Field, behind the Cemetery until turning around at the corner of 5th and Barton (bus stop). They will proceed back following the same route. Once they come down the hill and off the trail, runners should stay to the RIGHT and proceed on the sidewalk and UP THE STAIRS on Red Hill Road (sidewalk). From there, proceed on the road and to the finish line on the lawn in front of Reed Gym.
